I was actually getting this error because in my workspace the OpenShift 2 plugins projects were closed, so the {{org.jboss.tools.openshift.express.core/ui}} bundles were not deployed and as a consequence the {{org.jboss.tools.openshift.explorer.context.connection}} context was missing.
