I replaced the link widget by a hyperlink custom widget. The widgets shows up immediately,
you cannot spot any delay any more. the only slight flaw that is still present is that the
link is not changing it's background color when the row is selected. I filed this
issue in JBIDE-10747.

In the application details dialog, there's no way for me to easily get to the
application web page. I cannot copy the web-url nor click on it so that a web browser
would get opened (as it was in the old version)
