Sorry for the poor explanation. Yes [~mmalina] is right. In say the HTML5 archetype wizard
under start from scratch in JBoss Central, there's the Download and Install button.
Via that route, the credentials aren't validated.

When entering the download-runtimes wizard via the button in a New Project wizard, your
credentials are not validated at all.
[But works as expected from new server wizard and runtime detection preferences page]
