Martin Malina commented on JBDS-3162:
-------------------------------------
The reason for the discrepancy is that there are two mechanisms at work here:
1. When you use the the installer with eap, the server is added via Runtime Detection,
which uses the directory name for the server name and runtime name. So you get the same
result any time you use Runtime Detection (Window -> Preferences -> JBoss Tools
-> JBoss Runtime Detection)
2. When you add a server manually via New -> Server, you get the long default names
based on the Server Type.
So yes, you may think of this as a bug, but in my view it's more of a feature request
if you want these two aligned somehow.
Change "jboss-eap" to "JBoss Enterprise Application
Platform"

Key: JBDS-3162

Project: Developer Studio (JBoss Developer Studio)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Reporter: Burr Sutter
When installing JBDS+EAP (same installer), the default name under the Servers tab is
"jboss-eap". This is a request to have that default server name changed to
"JBoss Enterprise Application Platform".
And the default runtime name to "JBoss EAP Runtime".
