It should definitely not be option 2. These are just normal settings which should be
exportable via Preference export and ultimately be able to store on project/resource
level.
I actually thought these were stored as resource preferences in the workspace - if they
are not where are they stored today.

If I create a project with settings using Page Design Options in one WorkSpace and when
import it to another WorkSpace I lose all data from options. It's not comfortable to
print all settings again manually.
