I tend to use the name of the .jar file as the installation directory
/Users/burr/gettingstarted/jboss-devstudio-8.0.0.CR1-v20140831-0335-B201-installer-eap2

and I have seen it throw up the following error

runtime should be 1.7.0_25
which is what I also select as the JVM itself
