Barry LaFond commented on JBDS-1400:
------------------------------------
I tested including Teiid Designer Table of Contents extension but changed all the links
from "local" to the JBDS 4.0 Teiid Designer doc.
This worked just fine, of course, except that the landing point represents the whole JBoss
document page containing the Document list frame on the left. This frame is cumbersome and
has re-paint/refresh issues that detract from the user experience.
Having ALL JBoss docs visible here isn't a bad thing. Would be nice to be able to
"show/hide" that "Red Had Doc Stage" frame.
This concept (i.e. links only) does require internet access where the embedded or
"downloadable/installable" help is local, but you'll need internet access to
download in the first place.
So we have some options.
Feature request - include summary on-line help for all JBoss projects
supported in JBDS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: JBDS-1400
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBDS-1400
Project: Developer Studio (JBoss Developer Studio)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Affects Versions: 4.0.0.Beta1
Reporter: Len DiMaggio
Teiid Designer is packaged with (12MB of) on-line help. Other projects (jBPM, Drools,
ESB) do not have similar on-line help in JBDS.
This feature request is to add simplified Eclipse Help contribution for each
project/feature. This could take the form of a summary/outline page which can include the
JBoss HTTP site for docs. The help dialog could treat these pages as if they were local.
