Nick Boldt commented on JBDS-1499:
----------------------------------
If you have an old version of XulRunner (1.8) you can upgrade to 1.9.1.2 for JBDS 4.0 to
work.
If you're on a platform for which XulRunner 1.9.1.2 does not exist, however, you
cannot use the visual editor (but everything else in JBDS should work fine).
Supported platforms for XulRunner 1.9.1.2 (and therefore the visual editor in JBDS 4.0)
include:
Windows 32-bit (runs on Windows 64-bit too)
Linux 32-bit and 64-bit
Mac OSX Cocoa* 32-bit (can be made to run on OSX Cocoa 64-bit too**)
* - There is also a XulRunner 1.9.1.2 for OSX Carbon 32-bit, but it is not supported by
JBDS 4. It was supported in JBDS 3.1 but has been dropped for this new release because
(IIRC) it only works on OSX 10.4, whereas Cocoa works on 10.5 and 10.6.
** - JBoss Developer Studio for Mac OSX Cocoa 64-bit does not include the Visual Page
Editor. If you require this, use the 32-bit version with a 32-bit JDK. You will need this
workaround - JBDS-943 - on OSX 10.6.
