Gabriele Garuglieri commented on JBIDE-3162:
--------------------------------------------
Sorry, the installation of WTP is really not necessary to reproduce the bug with ant
files.
It remained there because while preparing the the bug description i was also testing the
JBoss xml editor behavior respect to WTP xml editor too.
It looks anyhow that JBoss xml editor, besides its behavior with icons and menus, sets
itself as the default xml editor overriding the WTP one.
I'd like to see this override be an option and that it let also the icon of a generic
xml file, whose content is not associated with a specific structured editor, show
according to the checked xml editor.
XML structured editor interferes with ant editor icon and "Open
With..." context menu entry of ant build files

Key: JBIDE-3162
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE-3162
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Bug
Components: XML Structured Editor
Affects Versions: 3.0.0.beta1
Environment: Eclipse 3.4.1, WTP 3.0.2
Reporter: Gabriele Garuglieri
Priority: Minor
Steps to reproduce:
CORRECT BEHAVIOR
1- install WTP 3.0.2
2- create a project containing the normal build.xml and an ant build file NOT named
build.xml
3- the structured editor automatically recognize the content of both files and marks both
with ant editor icon
4- right click on both files and select "Open With...", the "Ant
Editor" is checked.
WRONG BEHAVIOR
5- now install jboss tools and open the same project
6- the buil.xml is marked with ant editor icon and if you right click on it and select
"Open With...", the "Ant Editor" is checked and the "JBoss Tools
XML Editor" entry is NOT present in the menu
7- about the other build file NOT named build.xml, if you double click it the ant editor
is still invoked, but the file is wrongly marked with "JBoss Tools XML Editor"
icon and if you right click on it and select "Open With...", the "Ant
Editor" entry is not present in the menu and hence there is NO entry checked.
