Max Rydahl Andersen commented on JBIDE-3874:
--------------------------------------------
Snjezana,
I don't belive we can support Seam 1.2 with this, and possible not even Seam 2.
It was only in Seam 2.1 there is 'true' maven support.
For Seam 1.2 and Seam 2.0 the only usage of maven would be to fetch libraries but that is
a different usecase I believe - at least it is two different workflows...
This is for JBT 3.1 and here Ganymede compability is not an issue. Using the library
framework would be ok.
About the "New Maven Project" then Ill need to look again, but last time it seem
to be hard to adjust with respect to adding additonal UI for specific seam questions..or
am I wrong about that ?
p.s. Seam is just our primary use case - we should try and get everything *compatible*
with Maven, but not be a requirement for users....possible ?

Key: JBIDE-3874
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE-3874
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: common
Affects Versions: 3.0.0.GA
Reporter: Max Rydahl Andersen
Priority: Critical
Fix For: 3.1.0
It is time to make sure our stuff works well with Maven, at least to the extent that the
underline runtimes support it.
First shot would be to add an adapter that allows m2eclipse controlled projects to
activate the seam features.
That would allow us still to bundle JBoss Tools without any dependencies to m2eclipse
which still seem to drag in non-compatible plugins which we need to look into before tying
us to m2eclipse.
