Once 8.0.1.GA is publicly available, an user will be automatically notified about these new updates. Excample 1: The user installed SwitchYard from 8.0.0.GA then when he starts his JBDS there will be a popup window saying "Updates available". This is because JBDS checks whether there are new updates available on each startup. You can also select Help > Check for Updates to force updating. Example 2: The user installed only Teiid Designer from 8.0.0.GA then he won't see any notification since 8.0.1.GA contains the same version of Teiid Designer.
