Would a "Clear selection" button work for you ?
Would a "Select All" button make sense too ?
It already has both.. :) (except Clear Selection/Deselect does not work)
It helps some, but there is still a extract click.....

Primary usecase for us: Arquillian users have to go through project preferences to toggle
profiles to enable/disable arquillian classpath containers.
Challenges:
When applying to an aggregator pom, should ask user if he wish to add/remove the same
profiles on aggregated modules
UI suggestions:
run/debug style combobox's with dropdown to easy enable/disable often used profiles
IAM style view for enable/disabling
