Assuming the fix here is the one documented in JBDS-3404 (done in JBDS 9.0.0.Alpha2), then
this was NOT also fixed in 4.2.x.
Compare these these files:

Therefore this is NOT fixed in 8.1.x. Also, there is no scheduled 8.1.1 release as of this
writing, so fixing this in that stream is pointless if it won't get picked up, built,
and released.
Assuming we don't plan to do a 8.1.1.GA release, I would suggest closing this as
"Won't Fix" and "Workaround Exists" [1]:

The updatesite for JBDS 8.0.0 seems to have removed CordovaSim. When I go to install the
Hybrid Mobile tools (clicking on Hybrid Mobile Project of JBoss Central), then the default
action is to "not install CordovaSim".
