what does the error log say when you run eclipse with -debug ?
That was the strange thing. Ran with
-console -debug -consolelog
and got no relevant messages (did get messages about JVM 1.6 plug-ins not loading from
Eclipse Java dev tools).
Also tried creating a launch config using all the JBT 3 plug-ins and validating it, and no
error message.

The JBoss AS perspective does not appear in the perspective list, and the JBoss Server
view is not present.
No stack trace or other debug information from Eclipse log/plug-in registry. The strange
thing is that all the plug-ins seem to load, but these components are not present.
