This probably won't make GA and will instead be marked as a new system whenever it is
added. Pushing to 4.3 for now, but may re-target to 4.2.x in the future.
The reason this is hard is because it would require moving the extension point from
as.core to as.wtp. Not sure it makes sense at this moment.

JBIDE-16533 revealed poll threads are handled via global static singleton - a less than
perfect fit for the subsystem mechanism.
