John, have you started to model ESB configuration file, I ask this because I have created
EMF model from jbossesb-1.0.1.xsd just for reading ESB configuration file in Testing
tools, if you have worked out the model,
I think the testing tools can use the model of yours and I don't need to define
another model for ESB configuration file.

We need a domain model (perhaps EMF based) for JBoss ESB configuration files. This model
should be versioned, as the JBoss ESB configuration file is likely to evolve in future
releases.
This model would then be used by tools interacting with JBoss ESB configuration,
including service editors, testing tools, impact analysis, and so on.
Need to consider extensibility dimensions for actions.
