Brian Fitzpatrick updated JBIDE-10948:
--------------------------------------
Attachment: jbide10948.jpg
Hey Jim - We just implemented a first pass of this functionality with JBIDE-10609. :)
With JAX-RS, we couldn't just get the URL from the project without it being deployed
first, so Max & Xavier integrated the JAX-RS tooling with the Run As/Debug As/Profile
As functionality already in Eclipse.
The idea is that you Run As -> Run on Server, pick your server, and it deploys (or
updates) to the selected server, then opens the WS Tester with the URL and method type
(GET/PUT/POST/etc.). You then click the run button and you're off to the races.
It's not perfect at the moment. If you have any resteasy configuration that adds a
prefix to the RESTful url for example (like the RESTeasy example in JBDS does), it
doesn't pick that up currently. Xavier has created JBIDE-10891 to deal with that.
So we're getting there! This should definitely aid in the usability of some of these
tools however!
Right Click on the Web Service view to open the tester see the screen

Key: JBIDE-10948

https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-10948
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Webservices
Affects Versions: 3.3.0.M5
Reporter: Jim Tyrrell
Assignee: Brian Fitzpatrick
Fix For: 3.3.0.Beta1
Attachments: jbide10948.jpg, Screen shot 2012-02-17 at 8.32.08 AM.png
See the attached screen shot, it would be great to open up the web service tester with a
right click rather then having to go to a new perspective. Easy usability win.
