Max Rydahl Andersen commented on JBDS-2080:
-------------------------------------------
Burr - please stop using the native installers and test the uniform ones. That is where we
are going - to a setup where there is just one installer.
The issues you are bumping into just don't exist in that world.
We got one issue left to allow user to control wether install will target 32 or 64 bit,
but right now you can control that by simply starting the installer with the JDK/Java
version you want to use and it will align to that.
And even if users are on 64 bit OSs it still makes sense to run on 32bit since its faster
and uses less memory.
Installer: Java was started but returned exit code=13

Key: JBDS-2080
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBDS-2080
Project: Developer Studio (JBoss Developer Studio)
Issue Type: Bug
Security Level: Public(Everyone can see)
Components: installer
Affects Versions: 5.0.0.Beta1
Environment: Windows and Linux 32-bit Installer
Reporter: Burr Sutter
Assignee: Denis Golovin
Priority: Critical
Fix For: 5.0.0.Beta3
Attachments: exit_code_13.png, select_Java_vm.png
Beta1 and Beta2
On Windows & Linux,Java is often just a JRE - installed for other reasons - in some
cases the end-user has not ever installed a JDK or does not remember where it is
installed. The installer should block until it finds or is provided a proper JDK.
