Is this a spec bug?
My feeling is YES. So I'd file a sepc bug against that...
(which means MyFaces is broken)
If not; it is a Mojarra/RI bug; which needs to be fixed.
Somehow (due to reasonable backwards compatibility), this is a bug in
the spec/appendix
