[jbosside-dev] WTP deployment questions
by Max Rydahl Andersen
Hi guys,
Been looking at various aspects of WTP deployment, our IDE and JBoss
deployement in context of easy Seam project deployment,
and out sprung some questions ;)
1) Does anyone know about the file
.settings/org.eclipse.wst.common.component in WTP ?
This file looks to do *some* of the things Marshall is trying to
accomplish in context of
his xml file for describing packaging. Do you know how they relate and if
we use that
file (or some dependent API) for anything ?
2) "copy-on-save" should be "synchronize-on-modify"
When we get around making it possible to listen to resources and copy
files according
to the packaging we will also need to be able to handle "delete" of file
hence the name
of this bullet point ;)
3) Exploded deployment on JBoss
Can we point a jboss to a specific directory without the user having to
edit services.xml ?
Or does anyone know if WTP actually maintains a "deployed" structure
internally or is that
completely up to the WTP server plugins to handle ?

[jbosside-dev] regarding jbossws / wstools / soapui integration
by Ole Matzura
Hi all!
We have just released the first beta of soapui 1.6 (including our
initial jbossws wstools integration) and I am now finally writing a
specification for the "jbosside-soapui-plugin".. one issue that struck
me was the fact the jbossws is no longer tied to jboss (ie it can be run
in a standalone tomcat installation).. should our plugin support that
setup? How would that be affected by jbosside functionality (packaging,
deployment, etc..), do we need to provide this functionality "by
ourselves" our could the jbosside infrastructure still be used for
standalone jbossws-installations?
what are your thoughts?
regards!
/Ole

[jbosside-dev] updated hibernate tools tag for tests
by Max Rydahl Andersen
Hi Marshall,
yes - the tests where having "fun" because of lib mismatches.
I have fixed those now and also enabled *all* tests; including those that
currently fails because of me not knowing how to make them work inside
eclipse.
The problem is that some of my tests want to access some files and
directories directly.
e.g. i have some jar's normally in directory that the tests should load in
an isolated
classloader; but how do it make those accessible to the unit tests?
Basically what i need is just some way of putting files into the test
plugin in
a root directory e.g. /testfiles, but how do i actually access those as
java.io.File's ?
any idea.
btw. i've moved the tag to include the now running (but some still
failing) tests to actually see it happen ;)

by Marshall Culpepper
Several hours trying to figure out why hibernate wouldn't fetch from CVS
correctly, and I find out the tag wasn't applied to the hibernate feature...
