[Design of JBoss Web Services] - Text nodes in SOAP messages

In the TCK, the test case saaj/api/javax_xml_soap/SOAPElement contains two tests about adding text nodes to different SOAPElement subtypes, namely SOAPBody and SOAPHeader. Neither the specification nor the API documents are clear on which SOAPElement subtypes accept Text nodes. The TCK requires that SOAPBodies always accept Text nodes, whereas SOAPHeaders must accept them only if the protocol is SOAP 1.1. Apart from that, I saw our SOAPEnvelopeImpl class overrides addTextNode() to signal it is not legal to attach Text nodes to it. However, one can still add a Text node by invoking the DOM method appendChild(). How should we treat Text nodes? I would like this to be included in 1.2, you guys would get feedback from the community before the big JBoss 5.0 release. I agree with Jason, I think keeping it as wsimport and wsgen adds portability to any JAXWS runtime. I completely disagree. We are talking about commodity tools. Besides, who cares if they some other toolset. The whole point of JAX-WS is that generated output of tooling is portable. FYI http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3944620 The recovery manager will look for the object store in wherever you've set it in your jbossjts-properties.xml (which is searched for in the cwd and your classpath). If you don't change the default setting in there (or the system can't find the property file), then it'll default to cwd and be called PutObjectStoreDirHere. Re: TCK Ecludes for known issues

Ok, in that case we move the exclude list to jbossws/trunk and use it for our CTS work only without disturbing others. The approach with tracking regression through defined excludes has worked well and gives us an undistorted view of what is left do be done. cheers -thoams Jason T. I still believe that the jbossws tools should be named differently than the RI tools. Otherwise, there will be a lot of confusion in the forums and *a lot* more typing because it needs to be clarified every time what tools do you actually mean. Also, imagine 1.2.0 is out and somebody googles for wsimport, they surely do not get information on our toolset. My favorite is still wstools (with additional arguments) .
