I would like to address the procedure of how the EAP and other platforms
consume our respective projects.
Currently we have the situation where we do extensive QA against our
supported platforms.

Later the EAP team strips the build apart and even modifies source
artifacts only to see that they have test failures that they come back
to us with. This has become a resource killer that we cannot ignore any
longer.
I'd personally like to have the view that we work on community projects
that must be consumed by a platform "as is". If the platform folks
modify bits, its their business and not supported by us.

So far I have the following as topics we'd like to have
discussions
around at the dev conference (remember that we're looking for topics
that cut across more than just SOA-P):
Identity is one that we could make some progress with. Where are we with
regards to identity management and ACLs? Many projects have a need for
this within the SOA-P and outside. I know that Anil is working on
something with Scott and that Portal's efforts may be the basis of this.
I also know that there has been some discussion on the forums around
whether or not the current architecture proposed is flexible enough for
everyone's needs.
I think we should definitely have a session around the Microcontainer
and why people shouldn't be developing their own IoC any more.
SOA Platform tooling: what do we need and how do we go about it (e.g.,
what implementation technology choices should we be looking to support)?
Performance lab: what are the needs of the individual projects and how
can we seed the lab? This cuts across more than just SOA-P of course.
Are there other things you would like to propose? Given that the dev
conference is now only a day, and that there will be topics from other
groups, we should probably agree on about 5 important topics rather than
try to fill the day with niche discussions.
Mark.
