Fix Version/s: 3.1.x
(was: 3.1.5)
Assignee: Alexander Smirnov
Browser doesn't cache resources when Transfer-Encoding and
Content-Length headers are set together
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: RF-3159
URL:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/RF-3159
Project: RichFaces
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 3.1.4
Environment: Weblogic 8.1 , JDK 1.4.2, Windows 2000
Reporter: Wim Bervoets
Assigned To: Alexander Smirnov
Fix For: 3.1.x
Browsers (IE and Firefox) don't seem to cache resources (eg. Richfaces javascript
files); when the following headers are present in the response:
- Transfer-Encoding : chunked
- Content-Length header
When Tranfer-Encoding chunked is used, then no Content-Length header should be set.
Setting the two seems to instruct the browser to not cache the resource.
