With ajaxRendered="false", the problem does not occur. Example: <a4j:outputPanel ajaxRendered="true"> <rich:fileUpload immediateUpload="true"/> </a4j:outputPanel> On the other hand, if allowFlash="true", the problem does not occur - even if ajaxRendered="true".
