Weird. - Enter "です" - "本文" disappears and only "です" remains. The issue is reproducible only when you write something for the first time to the empty text area. After that, the issue wouldn't happen. I'm not sure the details of how TinyMCE handles IME keyDown events but the root cause seems to me that TinyMCE doesn't generate <p> tag in the empty text area for IE8 while it does for FireFox and Chrome. A workaround is populating "<p/>" as the initial value for the rich:editor.
