[JBoss JIRA] Created: (RF-3215) Calendar: Strange side effect on sliders when using back button
by Michael Haug (JIRA)
Calendar: Strange side effect on sliders when using back button
---------------------------------------------------------------
Key: RF-3215
URL: http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/RF-3215
Project: RichFaces
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 3.2.0
Environment: JBoss-4.2.0.GA, RichFaces-3.2.0.SR1, Facelets 1.1.14, Firefox 2.0.0.14
Reporter: Michael Haug
The problem is similar to RichFaces bug RF-895: We use a form with calendar and inputNumberSlider components.
By clicking the submit button, the user will be forwarded to a new page. If the user uses the back button in Firefox, the inputNumberSlider does not display the correct input value.
You can verify this by using the attached demo program:
1. Deploy SliderTest.war
2. Open the page http://localhost:8080/SliderTest/SliderTest.faces in Firefox
3. Change the input value of the inputNumberSlider component
4. Submit the form
5. Verify the result in the output page
6. Click the back button of the browser
7. Input value of inputNumberSlider component is lost
8. Redo step 2-6 with http://localhost:8080/SliderTest/SliderTestWithoutCalendar.faces
9. inputNumberSlider shows the correct input value.
It seems that the existence of a calendar component in a form has a side effect on inputNumberSlider components during document loading. Please note that the problem occurs only if Firefox is used (tested with Firefox 2.0.0.14, IE6 works ok).
