This is caused by richfaces toolbar + dropdowns + menu items being compacted into one line which seems to cause firefox (x)html-parsing to crap out on at least ff2 in winxp and osx. There are a couple of unresolved old tickets in mozilla bugzilla regarding this or very similar issues. I think a work around should be implemented (inserting breaks now and then).
