You works perfectly when the configuration javax.faces.STATE_SAVING_METHOD=server, the problem happens when I use javax.faces.STATE_SAVING_METHOD=client (web.xml). In this last configuration, the tree of components of JSF is seriarizable and saved in the client. Turning of rewriter fixed this. After further debug, I put my own filter and found there is a major difference if the filter does 1. chain.doFilter(request, response) 2. a forward to the same exact page that is being requested Basically, the html that comes back does not have the js script in it(the one without the js extension and the very long name), so basically all the components don't work. I really want to use the URLRewriter but then it seems I lose all the AJAX richfaces components. I have two cases: 1. Table became corrupted after removing a record from scrollable datatable and reRendering it. (consequenses: headers disappear + last column collapses) It was done using rich:contextMenu with reRendering scrollable data table. 2. Table became corrupted after reRendering scrollable datatable with a different data. (consequense: last column collapses) It was done using a4j:support in h:selectOneMenu with reRendering scrollable data table.
