[JBoss JIRA] (RF-13177) rich:extendedDataTable scrolling broken on OS-X
by Immo Benjes (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/RF-13177?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.s... ]
Immo Benjes commented on RF-13177:
----------------------------------
I just wanted to confirm that the scrolling of the extended data table is broken on iOS devices. As tablets now outsell computers this is a big problem!
Another point is that OS-x 10.8 by default doesn't show the scroll bar, so if your users use Apple devices you basically can't use the extendedDataTable!

> In OS-X scrolling can be done by using two fingers on the touchpad. However this does not work for horizontal scrolling on the rich:extendedDataTable.
> You can scroll vertically but not horizontally.
> The horizontal scrolling with two fingers only works when the mouse is over the actual scrollbar!
> I had a look at the actual html code and it looks like the header, table content and scroller are generated as independent tables. The div that contains the table content (class rf-edt-cnt) has overflow:hidden; set. If you change that to overflow: auto you get the two finger scrolling over the content of the table, however the header and original scrollbar isn't scrolling. Would it be possible to hide the original scroller and synchronize the header (and footer?) when scrolling the content?
> In OS-X you have the option to only show the scrollbar when you scroll. This is quite nice as it gives you a bit more space. However in this case you cannot scroll with the extendedDataTable at all! The scrollbar of the extendedDataTable is hidden in this case and the height/width of the div containing the scrollbar is 0, so you can't navigate over it to enable the scrolling. That basically gives you no way of scrolling!

Thanks [~jhuska], however the second related issue is a well-known JSF 2 bug ([JAVASERVERFACES_SPEC_PUBLIC-790|https://java.net/jira/browse/JAVASERVERFA...]). If you could please verify the primary issue of this bug report, whereby a popupPanel doesn't disappear when its _rendered_ attribute is set to _false_ and then rendered vai an ajax update.
When investigating, please also try wrapping the popupPanel in a panelGroup, and targeting that panelGroup with an ajax render.

[JBoss JIRA] (RF-13098) Regression: mediaOutput broken for CDI MediaData beans

Interesting that both [~rom1sat] and [~fabmars] are running on Glassfish.
@[~rom1sat] it's interesting that you are using JSF 2 managed beans, yet the class loading error references a CDI class. Are you using CDI or not?
@[~fabmars] the text looks good to me, what wyoudl you change about it:
https://github.com/richfaces4/core/blob/master/impl/src/main/java/org/ric...
Since this issue seems isolated to glassfish it is unlikely related to the original issue. Would one of you please file a new jira issue with a simple reproducer I can run in glassfish?

[JBoss JIRA] (RF-13098) Regression: mediaOutput broken for CDI MediaData beans

--------------------------------------------------------------
I concur with Romain Guillaume, the issue is still here somehow, even with a simple example.
Maybe it's worth noting I run my app on Glassfish 3.1.2.2. Maybe it's also Romain's case, and maybe the other tests above were performed only on Jboss AS 7.1.
I have 2 mediaOutput in my code, none works.
The first one passes a Long as the value to the createContent method and the expected output is a PDF. I get
{quote}
SEVERE: Input error for deserialize data java.io.InvalidClassException: Unauthorized deserialization attempt; org.jboss.weld.util.el.ForwardingMethodExpression
{quote}
The second one passes an array of 3 bytes (a color code) and the expected result is an image. I get
{quote}
SEVERE: Input error for deserialize data java.io.InvalidClassException: Unauthorized deserialization attempt; [B
{quote}
(this one worries me too)
Both the beans generating the content are CDI beans implementing SerializableResource (this "feature" ought to be better documented by the way).
