Hi!
I´m very sorry. It seems that there was a caching problem in IE8. During building
demonstration code everything was working fine. So I cleared my complete cache and my
original app is working correct in IE8 too.
Again I´m very sorry. Next time I will check this before I write something.

Since RF4.2.1.CR1 the rich:menuItem does not send a request in mode=ajax in IE8. In Opera
it is working correct, with version RF4.2.0 it was also working correct with IE8,
