Brian Leathem commented on RF-12594:
------------------------------------
By the _defaultText_ attribute, do you mean the _defaultLabel_ attribute? (see the [taglib
doc for the _rich:calendar_
component|http://docs.jboss.org/richfaces/latest_4_X/vdldoc/rich/calendar...].
Also, your "steps to reproduce" do not include the attribute in question. Does
that mean that this bug is present regardless of whether you set the attribute? (contrary
to the description and summary).
rich:calendar defaultText causes conversion error if not populated.

Key: RF-12594
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/RF-12594
Project: RichFaces
Issue Type: Bug
Security Level: Public(Everyone can see)
Components: component-input
Affects Versions: 4.2.2.Final, 4.2.3.Final, 4.3.0.M2
Reporter: Justin Rosenberg
Labels: waiting_on_user
If the defaultText attribute is set for a rich:calendar object and no value is entered, a
conversion error occurs. It seems like the submission is trying to parse the defaultText
value into a date.
