" /> </rich:panel> Surprisingly the style "font-size: 24pt;" has no affect. Using Firebug I discovered that the rich:panel component is rendered as follows: <div style="font-size: 24pt;" id="j_id30" class="dr-pnl rich-panel"> <div id="j_id30_body" class="dr-pnl-b rich-panel-body"> Your login was successful! </div> </div> with CSS rule set .dr-pnl-b { color:#000000; font-family:Arial,Verdana,sans-serif; font-size:11px; } That is, the font-size of this inner class overwrites the font-size specified as style of the outer DIV block. If there is a bodyStyle attribute, e.g. <rich:panel bodyStyle="font-size: 24pt;"> <h:outputText value="Your login was successful! " /> </rich:panel> that is rendered as a style attribute of the inner DIV block, i.e. <div id="j_id30" class="dr-pnl rich-panel"> <div id="j_id30_body" class="dr-pnl-b rich-panel-body" style="font-size: 24pt;"> Your login was successful! </div> </div> I would get the desired result. BTW, I know that I can use the attribute bodyClass for these purposes but sometimes it is more useful to use a style without indirections, that is defining an extra class.
