I have encounter this issue also on *iPad* device with this description:
In the above mentioned demo(outputPanel) it is not generated. On iPad it is for example
generated for a4j:queue, when the form is submited by apply button.
*Not all* submitting of forms causes this error. For example demo for a4j:status works as
expected.

When I try to submit a form -without a submit button (clicking on the enter)-, I get the
following error.

error on line 2 at column 18: internal error

This happens always when a form is submitted and produces common http request. When Ajax
request is produced, everything works correctly.
This can be reproduced e.g. on this page:
http://10.0.2.2:8080/showcase/#outputPanel:simple with the first input field.
