Thank you for your files. As I see you are using RichFaces 2.0 (old taglib URIs
xmlns:rich="http://www.exadel.com/vcp/components"
xmlns:a4j="https://ajax4jsf.dev.java.net/ajax" in your XHTML file). Please, try
to use the latest version 3.1.0 from http://labs.jboss.com/jbossrichfaces/ . it contains
some new components and many bugs fixed.

The request goes to server but the suggestionAction method is not at all gets called.
