It appears that when the modal dialog pops up, it disables the input fields on the page (possibly), and in IE 6 apparently those fields are not submitted to the server when the form submits (but this is just a guess based on the symptoms). However, if you close the dialog with an onclick right before submitting, the values are submitted (but, that does not look as good). I cannot seem to reproduce this issue in IE 7 or in Firefox.
