However it does the opposite - when it is at most ERROR. That's what is checked: {code} FacesMessage.SEVERITY_ERROR.compareTo(sev) >= 0 {code} And that's what should be checked: {code} FacesMessage.SEVERITY_ERROR.compareTo(sev) <= 0 {code}
