Make sure that 'versioned' & 'cacheable' attributes are set correctly. 2) Add mappings for all long file names (e.g. org.richfaces.renderkit.images.FooImage -> org.richfaces.fooImage.png) 3) Use @ResourceParameter & @PostConstructResource where applicable
