Greg Zoller commented on RF-5243:
---------------------------------
Ok, I did some more testing. I did a clean seam-gen project "naked", i.e. no
data entities, logic, screens, etc. I added an xhtml page with only a rich:inplaceSelect
element and some "lorem ipsum" text on it and ran it. I ran the test this time
on IE7 and saw the same white-box effect in my screen shot above. This was using whatever
richfaces version ships with Seam 2.1.1CR2 (RF 3.2.2 I presume?)
Next I shut down JBoss and replaced the project's Richfaces libraries with 3.3.0BETA4
in the JBoss deployment directory and re-ran. This time the problem did not present
itself in IE7.
I will test 3.3.0BETA4 on IE6 at work tomorrow and if it works in that environment
I'll mark this issue resolved in RF 3.3.0 or report other findings here.
inplaceSelect rendering problem in IE: big white box
----------------------------------------------------
Key: RF-5243
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/RF-5243
Project: RichFaces
Issue Type: Bug
Components: planning_all
Affects Versions: 3.2.2
Reporter: Greg Zoller
Assignee: Tsikhon Kuprevich
Fix For: 3.3.0
Attachments: inplaceSelect_3.jpg
Original Estimate: 4 hours
Remaining Estimate: 4 hours
I'm getting a poor rendering of inplaceSelect drop-down menus in ie6 (ie7 is unknown,
FF renders fine).
Sometimes there is a large white box area rendered for the menu but the menu is
substantially smaller than the box.
Please see attached picture.
There's also an issue of unnecessary scroll-bars being rendered, but I think
that's already been covered in another ticket. The issues may be related if the menu
rendering code is having problems figuring out how big a box to draw(?).
