In the sample above, the value expression retrieved is _#{cc.attrs.beanAndValue}_ and is of type _Object_. The original value expression, and it's type are not retrievable from the pickList renderer. However, on reviewing the spec for the UISelectMany decode behavior [1], we can assume that a value expression of type _Object_ is a collection, since it must be either a collection or an array. We can than use the Collection's clone capabilities to get an empty instance of the Collection to hold the converted values. In addition, I implemented the _collectionType_ attribute, allowing one to specify directly the collection type to use.
