After upgrading of jQuery to 1.6.2 the problem was solved partly, since the delete,
editing functionality works fine only the validation of inputs when editing rows works
only in compatibility mode. When inputs are filled correctly then it is possible to edit
rows.

This behaviour is due to an upstream bug in Mojarra:
http://java.net/jira/browse/JAVASERVERFACES-2063
Until the upstream bug is resolved, a workaround is to run IE in compatibility mode.
