M5 spin status :: no aggregate or JBDS installers available yet; many bot and non-UI test failures, plus one inter-build compilation failure

Since turning on the stable branch jobs, here's what's borked... https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-10349 Still trying to get a clean stable_branch aggregate build (and then JBT builds too) - last time the aggregate failed due to missing Central, OTDT, and OpenShift (hadn't spun clean yet). --- Details: - hibernate : test failure in org.hibernate.eclipse.console.test - jbpm : test failure in org.jboss.tools.jbpm.convert.test - jsf : test failure in org.jboss.tools.jsf.vpe.jsf.test - maven : 15 bot test failures (same failures in trunk) ... should these just be turned off and only run locally / manually? - struts : COMPILE FAILED - upstream bits missing? "The import org.jboss.tools.jst.web.validation cannot be resolved." --- There are also a few jobs for which the latest build failed, but at least we have one good build since branching. This suggests we're having some stability issues w/ a few Jenkins slaves, but at least we're getting clean spins when the server is quiet(er). = archives : aborted build? Tests error during local build

I'm trying to build org.jboss.tools.vpe.browsersim.eclipse.test locally to reproduce its failure on Hudson. But I got an error* */[ERROR] Cannot resolve project dependencies:// //[ERROR] Software being installed: org.jboss.tools.vpe.browsersim.eclipse.test////3.5.0.qualifier// //[ERROR] Missing requirement: org.jboss.tools.vpe.browsersim.eclipse.test 3.5.0.qualifier requires 'bundle org.jboss.tools.tests 3.5.0' but it could not be found/ During local built all dependencies must be resolved by tycho and downloaded from our servers, am I right? How this problem can be fixed?

How to setup an eclipse update site for Fuse Eclipse tooling

Hi, I am currently working on setting up a Jenkins job which builds the Fuse Eclipse tooling and then deploys the update site to some web server. There are some questions I have and maybe someone can help me a bit… 1. I set up a Jenkins job already (https://jenkins.mw.lab.eng.bos.redhat.com/hudson/view/SOA-Team/view/Fuse_...) and used the SwitchYard Eclipse Tools job as template. So far all is fine and the project builds but I saw that my update site repository zip file has a different naming than for example SwitchYard Tools where it is named like "site-assembly.zip". How can I change the name of the created zip file? 2. The SwitchYard Tools job is calling a shell script after the Maven build is finished. You pull some script file from a remote location and execute it locally at the Jenkins job. This script seems to do the update site deployment or at least some preparations (haven't fully examined the script) but it seems to be a general script which is used for more than one project. (btw. this script assumes that the update site zip file is named like "site-assembly.zip" if I understood it correctly) The question is now if I can also call that script in our Jenkins job. Maybe somebody could explain a bit more detailed what exactly is done by that script and to check with me if that script can be used for Fuse Tools as well. 3. I saw that the SwitchYard Tools Jenkins job triggers another job after it is finished. (https://jenkins.mw.lab.eng.bos.redhat.com/hudson/job/SwitchYard-Tools-pub...) What exactly is that job doing and how can I setup one for Fuse Tools job too (if that is needed). Maybe some or all of my questions are answered in some document? FYI: Kepler JEE bundle has been discontinued after M7

For the last few years, we've told JBoss Tools users to install into the Indigo JEE or Juno JEE bundle, as it includes most of what you need to get started w/ JBoss Tools or JBoss Developer Studio - namely Eclipse and WTP (JST & WST), and all the dependencies therein. However, it appears that there is no longer a JEE bundle available after Kepler M7 [1]. This might be an oversight, but it looks more like there's been some refactoring done to the collection of packages available to better meet the community's needs. Move to Tycho 0.18.0

Hi all, Tycho 0.18.0 was released and successfully tested for JBoss Tools/JBoss Developer Studio. As it provide some necessary fixes ( https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=406960 ) and a few useful improvements ( nested categories, support for OSX application packaging ), we plan to move to this new version ASAP. So except if someone wants to veto it before tomorrow, that's probably a change we'll apply by the end of this day.
