The only versions you need to concern yourself with are the ones in the SOA Platform: JBossESB 4.2.1GA and (eventually) JBossESB 4.4. The current community release, JBossESB 4.3, will be close to 4.4 if you want to see something now, before the end of July codefreeze.

This is a question that Max or John will need to answer. I would imagine, though, that we'll try our best supporting major versions with a focus on the most recent major version. John? Max?
