Reminder: JBT 4.1.1.Beta1 / JBDS 7.1.0.Beta1 Feature Complete Code Freeze & Branch is tomorrow (2013-10-17)

Reminder: JBT 4.1.1.Beta1 and JBDS 7.1.0.Beta1 will be having its "Feature Complete" Code Freeze & Branch tomorrow, on 2013-10-17. As we did for Alpha1 and Alpha2, I will be sending task JIRAs w/ details on how to prepare and branch tonight. Unlike Alpha1 and Alpha2, Beta1 will likely involve weekly respins (using respin-a, respin-b labels in JIRA), and will be a much longer testing cycle (Oct 21-Nov 07). --- If your project *will NOT be able* to freeze & branch on Thurs Oct 17, let me know immediately! Time to clean out the "soa-tooling" variables and profiles from the JBT parent pom (JBIDE-15683)

I've recently noticed that we still have leftovers in the JBT parent pom which refer to old soa-tooling URLs, many of which are out of date (eg., soatests/trunk site hasn't been updated since Nov 2012). So, I'm wondering if it's safe to purge these variables from the parent pom in both the 4.1.x and master branches. I've opened a JIRA [1] for this request: [1] https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-15683 My gut feeling is that all the Integration Stack projects are either only dependent on the JBT parent pom itself, or depend on the IT target platform and therefore need none of these vestigial soa-tooling variables or profile. Include a newer version of SWTBot in the JBT TP?

Do we want to update the TP to include a newer version? Cordova help needed

I am documenting Mobile Hybrid Tools (essentially Cordova Tooling) and have run into some issues. Can someone help please? Workflow: 1. Create Mobile Hybrid project (project named 'asd') 2. Click Run as > Run on Android Emulator -- got prompts about no available Android SDK So 3. Install 'Android Development Tools' from JBoss Central 4. Under Preferences > Hybrid Mobile, in Android SDK Directory field point to newly installed Android SDK directory (/home/mmurray/JBDS/android-sdks) 5. Try again, Click Run as > Run on Android Emulator -- now error prompt 'Launching asd (Android Emulator)' has encountered a problem. No Android AVDs are available' Confirming this 6. Click Run as > Run Configurations 7. under Android > asd (Android Emulator), Virtual Device (AVD) list is empty What have I not done? where have I gone wrong? Help appreciated, Michelle

Problem with project m2e vs validation during import

hello, I'm banging my head against the wall trying to fix this issue: On a Full Publish LiveReload refreshes the browser before the application is fully restarted Here's the context: I have a kitchensink project in which there are are JAX-RS errors (a custom JAX-RS HTTP Method is missing some annotations) Now, here's the problem I have: - in some cases, the metamodel exists and is complete (i.e.: the m2e dependencies were properly set *before* the metamodel was built), and then, the validation occurs on the whole project, and I have the expect errors reported. - in other cases, the validation on the whole project is executed *before* m2e did set the dependencies on the project's classpath. At this stage, the metamodel exists but it is empty (the java classes have compilation errors because of missing libs, so no JAX-RS element was created). The metamodel is completed after m2e updated the project's classpath, but then a validation job is triggered because of bunch of xml files (not related to the JAX-RS classes) were processed by m2e and copied into the /target/classes output folder. This means that the full validation was not executed. Basically, it looks as if some operations (m2e / JAX-RS / validation) don't always occur in the same order, which sometimes result in incomplete validation and missing markers as expected. (not to mention that I have no clue how to force the order of execution, which makes the debugging *not fun*...) Any idea how I could make sure the validation (based on org.jboss.tools.common.validation) could be always called on the project after m2e sets the dependencies in the classpath ? Required bundles and version restriction

Hi, I have a question that you might be able to answer. In RedDeer, we currently restrict the required versions of other reddeer bundles in manifests, such as: Require-Bundle: org.jboss.reddeer.jface;bundle-version="0.4.0", org.jboss.reddeer.swt;bundle-version="0.4.0", org.jboss.reddeer.workbench;bundle-version="0.4.0", org.jboss.reddeer.junit;bundle-version="0.4.0" in https://github.com/jboss-reddeer/reddeer/blob/master/plugins/org.jboss.re... The reasoning for this version setting is to eliminate the risk of mixing different versions of RedDeer bundles that you may have installed in your local repository. What do you think about this? IMPORTANT: Does your component support Luna?

Before we can make TP 4.40.0.Alpha1-SNAPSHOT the default target platform on master branch in parent pom and CI jobs, it's important that you tried it on your component and that you get an idea of how much effort it is to migrate. To know that, just follow the instructions in https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-15639 and report your feedback here.
