m2e 1.6.2 RC1 and m2e 1.7.0 M1 are available

Hello World, m2e 1.6.2 (1.6.2.20150818-2354) RC1 for Mars has been released. It notably fixes a regression introduced in 1.6.1 that broke the groovy configurator. See the changelog here [1]. It can be installed from [2]. 3rd party configurator providers are *strongly* encouraged to check 1.6.2 works for them. Unless new blocking issues are found for m2e 1.6.2.20150818-2354, it will most likely be released as-is next week. m2e 1.7.0 (1.7.0.20150818-2353) M1 for Neon includes all the fixes from 1.6.2 plus initial Java 9 support [3]. It can be installed from [4]. Java 9 beta support for Eclipse must be installed from the Marketplace[5]. Please note m2e 1.7.0 now requires JDK 8 minimum to run. Enjoy, Fred. Docker, Arquillian, Batch tooling: which version of objectweb.asm do we REALLY need?

Our target platforms contain multiple versions of objectweb.asm. Docker tooling apparently requires objectweb.asm version 4.0.0, but the Arqullian and Batch tooling depend on 5.0.1. Can the Docker stuff work with 5.0.1 ? Can we remove 4.0.0 from the target platforms? sorry for jiralint noise

Hey, In my attempt to make the jiralint reports a bit more informative I re-ran the jira lint weekly builds but forgot to disable the mail notification. So you got 2-3 more jiralint mails than you should have. But things should be back to normal now. The only difference being that when you go to jenkins failure list it will now list both assignee and component lead in the title. Found a few more places where we were still building w/ Tycho 0.22: maven-plugins, locus, target-platforms, discovery. Those have been corrected. News from the Eclipse Planning Council: Mars and Neon

1. Mars SR1 and SR2 will be renamed to Mars.1 and Mars.2. This is to avoid the misperception that new projects can't be added to those update releases. RC1 - RC4 for these update releases will probably be renamed to something like M1, M2, RC1, RC2, with *M2* being the cutoff date for adding new projects to the train. Neon will have 3 update releases.
