True, and I already have the svn repo but was hoping to move to git like all my other
repos ;)
but how about just clicking the zip download on github ?

considered that to be a snapshot with no version history. Is that not the case?
note: jbosstools-svn-mirror will be replaced with
jbosstools-full-svn-mirror soon.
Is that going to be a separate repo then?
