Turns out the three issues are, in order:
a) user error
b) compilation failure due to upstream changes in Hibernate, not related
c) maven glitch fetching upstream dep
So... as nothing blocks migration to Tycho 0.25, I'm going to push this PR:
Barring objections, this will be applied tomorrow.
