[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-22384) Application Wizard: Skip revalidating of a connection if it is already established
by Marián Labuda (JIRA)
Marián Labuda created JBIDE-22384:
-------------------------------------
Summary: Application Wizard: Skip revalidating of a connection if it is already established
Key: JBIDE-22384
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-22384
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Enhancement
Components: openshift
Affects Versions: 4.4.0.Alpha2
Reporter: Marián Labuda
When launching a New OpenShift Application wizard via shell menu File - New - OpenShift Application or via Red Hat Central, at first I am obliged to select an existing connection (or create a new one) and then proceed to New OpenShift Application wizard. At the moment, if I select an existing, already established connection (it is possible to work with it in OpenShift Explorer view, password/token has been filled in and is valid), it is still revalidated, what take some time (not too much but seems to be annoying for me every time opening the wizard). Also the connection is every time refreshed in OpenShift Explorer view once revalidation is finished. It would be nice if already established connections would not be revalidated again.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-22243) Properties: "Refresh" has no effect
by Marián Labuda (JIRA)
Marián Labuda commented on JBIDE-22243:
---------------------------------------
At the moment refreshing of a service and pod does nothing. This is related also to OpenShift Explorer view. Refreshing of projects and connections works fine.
I am not sure whether having a Refresh context menu item on a pod is reasonable (mostly bcs. refresh on the pod tree item should refresh the item itself and also underlying tree items, what does not make sense in this case imho. Pods of any kind (builds, application, deployment) are volatile - changing anything higher in hierarchy (e.g. environment variable, changing config etc) respin a pod and its already different item...).
Refresh on a service do nothing. I have not spotted any running job there, not underlying tree items are not refreshed. One outstanding question, again, is whether it is worth of having a Refresh for a service (if watcher would fail it would be nice, but we should ensure watcher is working all the time, if it is bugged, fix it so we would not have to worry about it). Also refreshing of a service to gets only its underlying pods, is this even possible without refreshing also other services lying under the same project?

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-21134) Move easymport plugins from playground component

Only org.jboss.tools.easymport.jee bundle content are to be moved. One will probably go -to jeetools (servlet project detector)- (part of WTP upstream https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=492096), another to datatools (JPA project detector) and the other one to webservices (jax-rs project detector).

If there is an EAP server present in Servers view, workbench tool bar contains 2 same icons - Select a default server icon is same as Red Hat Central icon. We should make this explicitly different.

> If there is no project in Eclipse workspace or if there is not related project to selected OpenShift service, it is not possible/reasonable to proceed through wizard, because create server adapter would not be the desired one. It would be nice, if there would be some link/button to import an application to Eclipse workspace, like we have for OpenShift 2 (import through server adapter wizard and once imported proceed without any issues).
