[JBoss JIRA] (RF-12693) a4j:commandButton causes NullPointerException in PartialViewContextImpl for IE7 requests if a <button> is present
by Justin Rosenberg (JIRA)

Justin Rosenberg edited comment on RF-12693 at 1/2/13 1:40 PM:
---------------------------------------------------------------
I have tracked down this problem to determine it is due to a <button> tag being in the html. Interestingly enough, the problem only occurs if the <h:head> tag is present. My theory is the JavaScript that is submitting the AJAX is somehow confused by the <button> in IE7 causing an invalid post to the server.

> I created http://java.net/jira/browse/JAVASERVERFACES-2666 in case this is a Mojarra problem, maybe we could help them resolve the issue.

[JBoss JIRA] (RF-12693) a4j:commandButton causes NullPointerException in PartialViewContextImpl for IE7 requests
by Justin Rosenberg (JIRA)
Justin Rosenberg commented on RF-12693:
---------------------------------------
I have tracked down this problem to determine it is due to an HTML5 <button> tag being in the html. Interestingly enough, the problem only occurs if the <h:head> tag is present. My theory is the JavaScript that is submitting the AJAX is somehow confused by the <button> in IE7 causing an invalid post to the server.
