Reverting back to track the community change. A new issue can be created as a blocker,
but it probably makes more sense to just update the fix version when this is checked in
against the support branch.

To build against a 1.7 VM without retarging to a 1.6 runtime for the Java libraries
requires that we update our JDBC logic to add missing methods. Most will likely still not
be supported and will throw a SQLFeatureUnsupported exception where appropriate.
