For everything else though it's unnecessary, but I guessing that the metadata on the response document is not setting all non-request id elements to non-searchable. Related problems exist in other connectors. The index connector advertises support for quite a few things that it cannot fulfill completely all of them time, then has extensive compensation logic, which just emulates what the engine would do.
